How To Teach Your
Dog Tricks - part 2

In the first part of easy tricks to teach your dog you learned about the "Focus on Me" trick

Another of the easy tricks to teach your dog is the "Hide your eyes" or Close Your Eyes trick.

How To Teach Your Dog Tricks - Hide Your Eyes

One way to teach to the trick is with a spray water bottle. Using a light mist of water to get your dog to close their eyes? With emphasis on light mist?

Here's the process by which you teach this trick:
• Have the dog come to you and sit directly in front of you

• Tell the dog to "Hide" and lightly mist the dog's face. You'll want to experiment where you only spritz enough to get the dog to close its eyes.

• When the dog does this repeat the verbal cue "Hide".

• Give a treat every time it hides its eyes.

Eventually the dog should react by you simply saying "Hide" and holding the bottle. At that point a spraying movement with your hand and saying "Hide" will get the dog to close its eyes.

Perhaps you'd rather use air rather than water? Okay instead of spraying, lightly blow in the dog's ear. Which will again cause it to close its eyes

These easy tricks to teach your dog will provide you and your pet hours of fun.
